PUNE: This Navratri in Pune, experience and enjoy the rich culture and festivities of Bengal and get a glimpse of ‘Bangaliana’ during the Mega Durga Puja organized by an NGO Trikaya Sanskritik Foundation between 1st to 5th October 2022. Authentic Bengali cuisine, performing arts, participation of well-known artists, flea markets, and various social initiatives would be the highlights of the fest. The festival will be celebrated at Kundan Garden in Baner, next to Wadeshwar Hotel.

The biggest highlight of the five-day fest is the melodious evening featuring a live performance by Ujjaini Mukherjee, the Voice of Kolkata on 2nd October (Saptami). Among other key events is a musical evening by Jayanti Ghosh, who is a differently-abled adult, and her father Sabyasachi Ghosh on Saturday, October 1 (Shashti) and a Sitar performance by Pandit Shri Atul Keskar on Monday, October 3. Prominent creative artist Devshri Chandrakar a.k.a Shiri would also be conducting art workshops during the fest.
Various competitions will be organized during the event, including a drawing competition for kids, ‘Alpona’ and ‘Rangoli’ competition, Sankha Dhoni competition, Ulu Dhwani competition and for all Puchka Lovers, there is also ‘World’s Best Puchka Eating Competition. Visitors will be able to witness Durga Pujo celebration cultural programs like Dhunuchi Dance, Dhak-er Tale Dandiya, and Bangla Baul O Rabi dance, traditional dance forms of Bengal, performed by Trikaya members.
The Foundation would also be conducting social activities during the festival. Vihaan, a center for differently-abled individuals, will display their work on Maha Saptami (October 2). Donation drives have been planned to support underprivileged girls on Maha Ashtami (October 3). Underprivileged women of Thergaon, Pimpri-Chinchwad will set up their stalls on Nabami.
