Indic Inspirations is all set to bring to you the Odisha Patachitra Workshop, its first workshop for the month of May. Master artisan Pramod Kumar Maharana will be coming to Pune all the way from Puri, Odisha to teach this folk art with lots of techniques and stories.
Pattachitra, one of the fascinating art forms of Odisha has a tradition that goes back centuries. Dating back to the 12th century AD, this art form was traditionally made on fabric or leaves while the colors were extracted from natural stones, conches, and lamp soot. It is done on palm leaf and silk and is, therefore, also known as Odisha Palm Patachitra.
The legacy of Odisha Pattachitra runs in the family of Master Artisan Pramod Kumar Maharana. Indic Inspirations offers you the opportunity to experience Odisha’s rich culture through the veteran artist who, along with his family has refined the techniques and scope of Odisha Patachitra.
Participants can choose one date and any one-time slot for the workshop. All required materials will be provided at the venue itself.
