DeHaat Acquires Helicrofter To Better Serve The Farming Community

PUNE: DeHaat, the technology-based platform offering end-to-end agricultural services to farmers in India, has expanded its footprints in western India through the acquisition of Maharashtra-based B2B agri-input marketplace startup, Helicrofter.

DeHaat, India’s largest full-stack agritech platform, is today serving over 800,000 farmers across Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan through its 6000+ strong network of Micro-Entrepreneurs called DeHaat Centres (DCs). With this acquisition, DeHaat has now added another major Indian agricultural belt to their already expansive geographical footprint and has got connected with Helicrofter’s 2000+ retailers and 30+ suppliers.

DeHaat offers a host of high-quality products & services to farmers by partnering with local agri retailers selling seed, pesticides, fertilizer, farm machinery, cattle feed, and all agri allied products to the farmers, as well as aggregating output produce.

DeHaat’s partnership with agri input manufacturers gives DCs access to a wide range of products across all categories on their phones through a user-friendly, easy-to-use application called DeHaat Business App (DBA). Through the app, DC can order from the convenience of their shop, and DeHaat’s strategically located warehouses, efficient supply chain, and dedicated logistics partners ensure fast delivery.

DBA enables agri-retailers to take their store online and showcase the product & service offerings to farmers in nearby villages.

The company’s strong on-ground salesforce help DCs plan their purchase effectively, while the farmer extension team working across villages provides customized advisory on farming-related issues & helps showcase product benefits to the farmers through physical meetings & field demos. Along with this, digital promotions, and crop advisory with product recommendations through farmer app and phone call connects numerous farmers with the DC.

The company has also partnered with 600 commodity bulk buyers, including retail chains, e-commerce players, FMCG giants, and SME food processors. DCs involved in buying farm produce from farmers can use the company platform to perform a quality checks, grading, sorting, and packaging, and further directly supply to these bulk buyers. The idea is to make procurement of the farm produce hassle-free for the farmers and give them the best price for their produce. For DCs, it is an additional source of income.
