PUNE: Gurpreet Singh, Chairman, and Founder of SSS Anand Van was invited to mentor the Children under the care of OS Children’s Village in Pune on Dec 11, 2021.
There are times in everyone’s life when a person introspects and wants to make a difference in the world, something that will bring a smile and a warm feeling to another person’s heart and bring them deep fulfillment. Gurpreet Singh too had such contemplative moments.
Gurpreet Singh, Chairman, and Founder of SSS Anand Van are benevolent at heart. A thorough gentleman says that the best way to satiate your soul is by doing good for society and the world.
Singh had this opportunity when he graciously accepted the invitation from SOS Children’s Village for mentoring and training children in their care, who are pursuing professional and vocational courses.
Established in 1964, SOS Children’s Villages of India provides children without parental care or at the risk of losing it, a value chain of quality care services that goes beyond childcare alone, ensuring comprehensive child development. The organization empowers vulnerable families in communities to become financially independent, thereby enabling them to create safe and nurturing spaces for children under their care. They are lovingly cared for and nurtured by over 600 SOS Mothers and Aunts. As India’s largest self-implementing childcare NGO, SOS Children’s Villages India directly touches the lives of around 30,000 children every year.
Gurpreet guided the children who are on the onset of their higher education and career journeys and handheld each of them as such grace and comfort, elevating their confidence levels to open up in a crowd and encouraging them to visualize their paths ahead. It was done with such alacrity, the children loved it! They were gently prodded on and encouraged to open up and were shown the way to introspect about what it is they wanted to do with their lives and how they could manifest the best possible outcomes. Mr. Singh took them through the process of basic ethics of how to create effective resumes and prepare for job interviews with great elan and so much more. Mr. Singh aspires to generate employment opportunities for them.
We had a great session with the children which was scheduled for one hour but went on for good 3 hours. The children enjoyed the session with rapt attention. Singh gave them guidance in inculcating great values and principles which would help them to take on the world.
