Meet Pune based Aqeel, an Amazon Flex Partner, who is delivering his family’s future one package at a time

PUNE: Six years ago, Aqeel and his family were caught in a difficult bind. His father’s limited income was not enough to support the family of 6 nor the education of 4 children. With his father’s health deteriorating, Aqeel knew that as the eldest son, the responsibility of his family fell on his shoulders. Although academically driven, Aqeel abandoned his higher education dreams so that his other siblings wouldn’t have to. Upon completing class 12, Aqeel immediately moved from Aurangabad to Pune in pursuit of higher-paying work opportunities.  

As the sole breadwinner, Aqeel took up several jobs, one of which was a bouncer at a nightclub. He worked hard but the earnings were not enough to fulfill his family’s needs as well as sustain his life in Pune. Aqeel continuously looked for part-time opportunities that gave him the flexibility to do other things and increase his income. By 2019, Aqeel had explored multiple options and was reaching the end of his search. Little did he know that the Amazon Flex program was going to change his life!
