Rotary – Rotaract Synergy A “Selfless Service”

Musical Tambola, Blood Donation and Selfless Community Service

PUNE; The Rotary – Rotaract platform has been working towards the welfare of the society and creating world leaders for the past 85 years. Our Sponsor Rotary club, the Rotary Club of Poona completed 85 years on 10th June 2021. The past year has been very fruitful in the terms of community service and personality development providing ample opportunities to young minds to come up with innovative ideas.

The Rotary – Rotaract synergy and the idea of adding young energy to experienced and seasoned ideas has worked wonders. The list of events is never ending but here are the highlights of few notable events. On 31^st January 2021 we as a team participated at the district event “Abhipray 2.O” where we got a chance to put across our thoughts on various issues, or it may be the E-Ryla on the 17^th of April 2021 efforts of young achievers and budding entrepreneurs like Rtr.Aakash Bhalla and Rtr. Afrin Sheikh and Rtr. Mohammad Saad Shaikh were celebrated and they were encouraged to inspire our interactors.

Along with personality development contributing to the society and community is also a virtue encouraged by the Rotary – Rotaract synergy. Our flagship event of the “Musical Tambola” was a fundraiser event where the funds raised through this event were used to provide for Street Walkers where they lost out of business and are going through a crucial time. This project was undertaken as the first step to bring a change in the perspective of our society towards the disregarded community. Along with it, the funds were donated for Ambulance services and for Ration kits to the needy. In these uncertain times of a pandemic, our Rotary – Rotaract synergy has left no stone unturned to give back to society.

Through the organization of Blood Donation Camps, painting diyas on the occasion of Diwali to bring a smile and light for the necessitous one, auto-shield and vada pav donations, or whether it be mega drive through our partner NGO Goonj by donating, Ration Kits, Clothes, Utensils, etc., we also have an event with the NGO Saheli coming up. We have always upheld the motto of “Selfless Service” towards the community and society. Such high regard towards morals and values can be only inculcated through the wonderful platform that the Rotary – Rotaract synergy provides to the young and energetic youth of the country.
