Lakmé launches refillable jars as a step to reduce plastic usage by 85%

Lakmé Absolute Perfect Radiance Skin Brightening Day Crème to now come with refillable jars to help curb plastic usage

INDIA: Lakmé, India’s iconic makeup and leading premium skincare brand, has directed its efforts towards achieving sustainability and empowering the ecosystem by introducing a refill pack with its skincare cream, Lakmé Absolute Perfect Radiance Skin Brightening Day Crème to help tackle widespread plastic pollution.

On World Environment Day and to address today’s environmental challenges Lakmé will sell each jar of its Perfect Radiance Skin Brightening Day Crème with a recyclable refill jar that can be placed inside the container. This 50g refillable jar is designed to simply fit into the existing empty jar for a second time use, thus considerably reducing plastic usage by 85%. This initiative will help meet the product demand as well.

“We are on a journey to help make beauty products more sustainable in the long run and Lakme’s refillable package is a small step in that direction. This move could substantially reduce plastic waste generated eventually,” said Vandana Suri, VP-Skin Care, HUL.

This product is designed to provide consumers with more usage at an affordable price of INR 499 (50g+50g) inclusive of the refill pack.

The path to a good skincare routine begins with a shift to an eco-friendlier lifestyle!
